The course is suitable for both beginners and boaters who want to deepen their knowledge and increase safety on the water.
Content of the training
The boaters' radar course provides comprehensive capabilities for the safe and efficient use of radar in recreational boating. In the course, you will learn how to interpret a radar display, identify targets and make use of radar in different driving and weather conditions.
Training focuses on hands-on training with radar simulators that allow you to practice in realistic situations without risk. Simulators allow different traffic situations, visibility conditions and error situations to be handled in peace and control.

• Radar operating principles and limitations
• Legislation on radar
• Radar adjustments and basic use on board
• Identifying objects and estimating distances
• Use of radar in poor visibility and darkness
• Collaborate with map plotter and other navigation tools
• Practical exercises with a radar simulator
After the course, you will be able to use radar more reliably, anticipate traffic situations and improve your own safety as well as that of other boaters.
To start the training, minimum number of participants is 7 people
Duration of training 2 x 6,5 h
Language of Training: Finnish.
After registration, you will receive a confirmation of registration to the e-mail address you have given.
The invitation to the training is sent to the same address approximately a week before the training.
We have a Paytrail payment service. Once you have entered your registration details, the program will direct you to Paytrail, where you can pay the price of the training in your online bank.
When a company is paying for the training, an invoice will be sent after the training to the billing address you have given.
