Target group
The course is ideal for new professionals who are entering the field of forwarding as well as for more experienced professionals who want to update and strengthen their competence.
Content of the training
Kotka Maritime Centre organizes a three-day training, which provides a comprehensive and practical overview of working as a freight forwarder as part of the port and logistics chain.
The course is aimed at professionals in the port, shipping, logistics and transportation sectors who work or intend to work in forwarding, export and import transport, customer service or operational tasks.

Objectives of the course

After the training, the participant:
• understands the role and responsibilities of the freight forwarder in the transport chain
• knows the stages of the forwarding process in practice
• masters the key modes of transport, terms and documents
• identifies responsibilities, risks and limits of liability related to forwarding
• is able to work effectively with customers, shipping companies, authorities and other stakeholders

• Duties and responsibilities of the freight forwarder
• Export and import processes (maritime, road and multimodal transport)
• Transport Documents and Incoterms® Delivery Clauses
• Customs clearance and official processes
• Responsibilities, insurance and risk management
• Practical examples of the port environment

Implementation of training

The training consists of expert lectures, practical examples and discussions. The focus is on real working life situations that support the day-to-day work of the participants in the port and logistics environment.

Language of Training: Finnish.

After registration, you will receive a confirmation of registration to the e-mail address you have given.
The invitation to the training is sent to the same address approximately a week before the training.
